Born outside Castledawson in Co. Londonderry, Edward has lived in Randalstown for over 40 years. Although retired from the Health Service as a Medical Biochemist, he started his sporting life playing football for Moyola Park, badminton in Randalstown, before joining Old Bleach Bowling Club some 40 years ago, where he served as President, Secretary and Committee Member. Plays both outdoor and shortmat bowls, winning 2 Irish Junior Cup medals but mainly plays for the Veterans' section, currently acting as Secretary.
